Ground Off All

Overview

Ground Off All ungrounds all components in the active edit document and removes ground color overrides. This helps ensure no parts remain unintentionally grounded after large edits.

How It Works

  1. The command finds all grounded component occurrences in the active edit document.
  2. Each grounded occurrence is ungrounded.
  3. Any color overrides applied by the ground workflow are removed.

Usage Instructions

  1. Open your assembly in Inventor (and activate the desired edit level if working in a subassembly).
  2. Click Ground Off All in the Placement panel.
  3. Verify all components are ungrounded and their appearance is restored.

Tips and Troubleshooting

  • Some components remain grounded: Verify the components are editable at the current edit level and not locked/suppressed.
  • Color does not restore: Other appearance overrides may still be applied; review appearance settings.

Examples

  1. Finish a large edit session: Unground everything after resolving constraints and verifying the assembly updates correctly.
  2. Reset after troubleshooting: Clear grounding to test motion/constraints again.
